MD HAIR™ was created by Susan F. Lin, MD. Drawing on her background as a physician, Dr. Lin developed a family of hair, scalp, and personal-care products under the MD® name, formulated to bring a doctor's standard of care to everyday routines. She continues to stand behind every product that carries the MD® name.
About La Canada Ventures
MD HAIR™ and the MD® family of products are offered by La Canada Ventures, Inc., the company founded by Dr. Lin to bring her formulations to consumers. For nearly two decades, La Canada has produced and sold products under the MD® family of marks — including MD HAIR™, MD Nutri Hair™, and MD Lash Factor® — to customers in the United States and abroad. Certain MD® formulations are covered by U.S. Patent No. 8,206,695.

MD® launched its first physician-formulated product in 2008 — the same vintage as the category's earliest brands — with the first peer-reviewed published safety study in its field (JCLT 2008, PMID 18569264). Nearly two decades later, the same physician, Dr. Susan Lin, M.D., still formulates every product.
