Female Pattern Hair Loss

A part line that widens a little more each year. A ponytail that feels half its old size. Female pattern hair loss — the hereditary, hormonal kind — is the most common cause of thinning in women, and unlike men it usually shows as diffuse loss across the crown rather than a receding hairline.

It is driven largely by DHT, the androgen the body converts testosterone into. MD Hair™ addresses that pathway without a drug: lilac-derived verbascoside has been studied for its interaction with both Type I and Type II 5-alpha-reductase, the enzyme behind that conversion — saw palmetto, by comparison, has been studied mainly for Type I. Flaxseed lignans add a second, food-derived lever, and peptide serums work at the follicle where thinning shows first.

Physician-formulated by Dr. Susan Lin, M.D., drug-free, and usable with or without minoxidil or finasteride. Original physician-formulated since 2008.
