Excessive Hair Shedding

More hair in the brush, the drain, or on the pillow? Excess shedding — telogen effluvium, in clinical terms — is usually your growth cycle reacting to a trigger: stress, illness, hormonal shifts, rapid weight loss (including GLP-1/Ozempic-type medications), or nutritional gaps. The good news: shedding is often the most reversible hair concern. These drug-free, physician-formulated products support the growth cycle from within and reinforce follicles at the scalp, so more hairs stay in their growing phase. Works with or without minoxidil.

Shedding and thinning are not the same problem

Shedding is a timing event: a trigger pushes an unusually large share of follicles out of the growing phase at once, and they release together two to three months later. Thinning is a change in what each follicle produces. The distinction matters because it changes what to expect — shedding has an end point, thinning does not resolve on its own. A practical test: hairs shed in telogen effluvium come out with a small white bulb at the root and are full-length, not broken and not tapered. If the hairs coming out are noticeably finer than the rest, you are likely looking at miniaturization as well as shedding, and both are worth addressing.
